She has taught children from preschool level to fifth grade in both private and public schools. She founded "Mom & Me", a home based preschool for her older children. She also works part time as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. She has volunteered for La Leche League International since 1991 and Girl Scouts of America since 1996. She lives in Buffalo Grove, Illinois with her husband Ron and children, Haley, Daniel, and Jonathan.
Annette founded the "Create-A-Camp" home based summer camp in 1995. Her four year old daughter attended a park district camp for one year but Annette was not impressed by the program. She often pulled her child out to do other field trips as a family. She realized that, with the proper preparation, she could start her own cooperative day camp with other families.
The fall her daughter turned five years old Annette put together a plan to start her own home based summer camp. She found five other families that would try this new idea. They had a "spring meeting" to plan the summer. T-shirts were designed, a name was chosen, and a schedule was developed to meet the needs of the campers.
Annette never anticipated how well this idea would grow over the years. The summer of 2001 was the seventh year of "Create-A-Camp". There were twelve families involved with over seventeen children. It was a very fun summer! That summer Annette's third child, Jonathan, turned one.
